Role Introduction

Working with the Art Director, the Creative Services Manager oversees the development of creative assets produced by the Creative Services Team for graphic design, website and video production projects. They support the Art Director managing a team of designers, providing leadership and guidance for all creative work. A highly skilled designer with management experience, the Creative Services Manager has a natural eye for design and is an excellent collaborator open to inspiration and ideas from team members.

The position will work remotely with daily supervision and development including regular video-conference meetings, ongoing virtual team messaging/chat tools, emails, and telephone calls.

Typical Workday

  • Collaborate with and receive direction from the Art Director to support all aspects of a project from ideation to implementation.
  • Oversee the creative team assigning, scheduling work, and mentoring the staff’s technical skills.
  • Develop creative briefs based on ideas from brainstorming sessions, with direction, schedules, timelines and deliverables for the creative team.
  • Maintain creative standards for production, productivity, quality and client service.
  • Collaborate with other departments in creating plans and aligning team priorities on time and within budget.
  • Obtain Art Director approval of final designs and support the team with client communications.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors to deliver and manage assets including direct mail, print, large-format signage, and advertising for online and print.
  • Support the maintenance and ongoing development of pipikwan pêhtâkwan’s website and communications tools and initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Art Director to understand priorities, challenges, and opportunities and manage team projects and workloads using various tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Graphic Design, Digital Design, and/or Visual Communications Design or a related field
  • Seven or more years of professional experience in graphic design, with two or more years in a management role.

Salary Expectation

$65,000 - $75,000

Additional Information

As this agency is focused on working with Indigenous communities, preference will be given to Indigenous or persons of colour or people with extensive experience working with Indigenous communities.
