Zahra Husain

Design Intern

Zahra Husain (she/her) is a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Communication in Information Design from Mount Royal University (MRU). Zahra’s family has roots in Central India and came to Turtle Island when she was two years old. Her family eventually settled in Mohkínstsis (Calgary, AB), where she currently resides. Through her studies, Zahra has built her skills in research, writing, visual communication, creative problem-solving, and collaboration. Zahra has over two years of professional design experience and enjoys branding, UX/UI, and web design projects. She is passionate about using her skills to amplify and uplift the voices of marginalized populations. In January 2024, out of six teams that worked on MRU’s Faculty of Business and Communication Studies’ Elevate rebranding project, Zahra’s design was one of two chosen for the official design and faculty’s future use. In her spare time, Zahra enjoys going for walks, watching TV shows, trying new recipes, and learning about different cultures and languages.
