Aaron McKay is a member of the Pine Creek First Nations along the southwestern shore of Lake Winnipegosis. He currently lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba on the traditional territory of Treaty 1 First Nations including the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dene Peoples. Winnipeg is also the traditional homeland of the Métis Nation. Aaron is a creative and passionate digital media professional with extensive experience in graphic design, web design, digital video and 3D production.
After graduating from the Digital Multimedia Technology and 3D Computer Graphics programs at Red River College in 2012, Aaron started his career working in 3D animation – primarily as an environment and prop artist. He participated in three animated productions before pursuing an illustration and graphic design career in 2017. In 2019, Aaron landed a position at a Dauphin radio station as a Digital Creative Coordinator. He was responsible for helping them design graphics for their various promotions and advertising clients. Aaron now works as an Online Assistant at Canada’s History Society in Winnipeg.
Aaron prefers the remote working environment because it allows him to travel and visit his family more often. His goal is to contribute his creativity to important and meaningful projects.
